What We Do
Unleashing the Power of Disability Rights Movements
Disability movements, in times of polycrisis, exercise their rights, advance social justice, challenge ableism and other oppressions everywhere. Embodying disability pride, movements are connected, diverse, inclusive, participatory, sustainable, resilient, and adaptive. They are in solidarity with other diverse disability and other human rights movements.

Featured Video: Pride and Inclusion in the Pacific
Please watch and share this video featuring Eve Naqio, a trans woman and deaf advocate, who is the spirited project officer for the Disability Pride Hub in Fiji. As one of the leaders of the very first LGBTQI-led disability rights organization in the Pacific, Eve is a trailblazing advocate for inclusion.
Faaolo Utumapu-Utailesolo
DRF Program Officer, Pacific Island Nations“The Pacific Islands are among the most vulnerable to climate change and are the least resourced. DRF is often the first and only funder of emerging organizations of persons with disabilities. This needs to change. We know that the advocacy of our grantees for inclusive disaster-risk reduction policies is critical to ensure no one is left behind. Our communities are way past verbal commitments, and it’s time for states and philanthropy to move more and better resources and for States to fund the implementation of actions they have committed.”
